About

My name is Scott Bourne and I am trying an experiment. I am using this blog to sell off some of my camera gear and related electronics. You may know me from my blogs and podcasts such as the Apple Phone Show or This Week in Photography – or from my appearances with Leo Laporte on MacBreak Weekly. Let me know what you think.

  1. Scott, I would like to see how this experiment turns out. With all the fees, commissions, and TOS contracts from uBid, eBay, and PayPal, it would be nice to have your own way of selling your goods.

I would be interested in this gear but I am a Nikon guy and have been for years. Too much invested in glass. Although, I do love my Canon G9 for every day shooting.

    Good luck buddy!

  2. Great concept, just photo for sale!! I will bookmark this and come back ofter, maybe even RSS. As you can see my name Pentaxfan- only pentax and would like to see good glass FS here!! Thanks FYI, Love seeing your photos, always a treat

  3. Hey there Scott. For future reference would you consider shipping to canada?

  4. Sorry Grant again the problem is no rasonable legal recourse for me should the deal go bad. That combined with customs issues, extra shipping and transaction fees makes it more trouble than it’s worth for me right now.

If I were to do this as a business, I’d work that stuff out. For now I am just trying to sell off some of my own gear. Sorry, no disrespect meant.

  5. I think this is a great idea. Too bad you don’t ship to Canada. Would you have any problems shipping to a friends place in the US?

  6. @ryoh if the buyer could pay with a USPS Postal Money Order then yes.

  7. I guess your switch to Nikon will be explained in detail on the TWIP podcast? ’cause I’m eager to hear about your motivation(s).

I’m running behind on the TWIP episodes, so you may already have done so.

Anyway, welcome to the other side 🙂

  8. Hey Scott why is there a smilie face in the background to the right of the calendar at the top of this about page?

  9. Hi Scott – this is a great idea. I hope it catches on.

What have you done with all your Canon gear?

  10. Hi Ray all my Canon gear sold here within a week.

  11. I think this is a good idea. I hope it works well for you.
